Scottish Mezzo-Soprano, Kathleen started her singing career in Perth, Scotland and studied at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music.
Kathleen won the ABC Young Performers Award and also was a finalist in the New York Metropolitan Opera Competition, going on to become a major principal with the Western Australian Opera Company and then Opera Australia performing over 30 roles Nationally and Internationally.
The highlight of her Operatic career was performing with Dame Joan Sutherland in Don Giovanni, Othello and Suor Angelica.
Since leaving Opera Australia, Kathleen has gone on to develop a Solo career both here and overseas as a classical Crossover/Celtic Artist.
Kathleen has done 5 successful tours of the USA and toured the UK and USA in Late August/early November 2012…with performances in Inverness, Armadale, Glasgow, Perth, London, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Astoria (OR) and Chandler and has been invited back in October 2015.
She has recorded 5 albums – ‘ From the Heart ‘, ‘Touching Shadows’, Ánytime Anywhere, Celtic Footprints and the latest one being ‘To You With Love ‘ which is an album of requests (all of these can be purchased directly from Kathleen directly or online, see the videos page)
Last year she made her Debut with the QLD Pops Orchestra in Celtic Celebrations which toured QLD.
She is in great demand as a Celtic Performer with her Show touring Queensland, Victoria and later this year NSW.
She has also recorded with other International Performers over the last few years.
Two of her tracks were selected for a special CD ‘From Our Hearts’ (for the world)…all proceeds going to International Red Cross which is still available..
She has been on the Australian Indie Radio Charts constantly for the past 7 years .
Her repertoire includes full programs of Opera, Celtic, Musicals, Broadway and contemporary pop.
Kathleen is the Patron of Clan Leslie (Australia and New Zealand).
She was awarded the accomplished honour of “Diva Inernationale Escosia” by the Australian Scottish Community of Australia… and just recently was awarded a Celtic Honour Duine Uasal (D.Ua) (Honoured Person) from the Celtic Council of Australia.
Kathleen is also the Australian Ambassador for the Goodwill Peace Treaty and the Australian President of WICO (Women's Int. Coalition for Culture of Peace, Non-Violence and empowered women).
